New Year's orange cake

New Year is coming very soon, which means it’s time to create a menu for the New Year’s table. Today we’ll talk about a simple and very tasty New Year’s dessert that your family and your guests will enjoy. Orange spiced cake is a traditional New Year's dessert, because in every piece of the cake you can feel the taste of this fabulous holiday, and the aroma is simply mesmerizing. This cupcake is very easy to prepare, and you don’t need a large amount of ingredients for this dessert. Another plus of this sweet is that it is not heavy and is perfect for a New Year's feast, because at night after an abundance of dishes for dessert, you no longer have enough strength for a heavy dessert.

And so, to prepare an orange cake you will need: eggs, flour, sugar, sunflower oil, baking powder, orange and lemon zest, cinnamon and any other spices that you like. Cooking should begin with beating the eggs. A very important tip: do not beat the eggs too much, because if the whites are broken, the structure of the cake will not be the same as we need, and in general it will be difficult for the cake to rise. Beat eggs together with sugar. After you beat the eggs to the desired consistency, add sunflower oil and water to them. These ingredients will make our cake moist inside and more rich.

And the very last step in preparing the batter for our orange cake is what makes it so special and flavorful. Spices are added to the dough at the very end. Take one orange and one lemon and grate the zest from them using a grater. You can grate it on the finest grater, or on a medium one, it’s whatever you like. If you want the inside of the cupcake to be visible, use a medium grater. Adding zest gives us not only an amazing aroma, but also the beautiful orange color of the cake itself. Also don’t forget to add spices: cinnamon and a little nutmeg are best. The main thing is not to overdo it with spices so that they do not overwhelm the light orange taste.

You can serve the orange cake in several ways. Orange cake and melted chocolate go great together. You can cut the cake and pour melted chocolate over it. It will also be very tasty if you put a scoop of ice cream on a plate with a piece of kes. Or just sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar and serve.
