All the salads that we will write about in today’s article are prepared from boiled beets, which is why we will share tips on how to cook beets correctly so that they are soft and do not lose their nutrients. The most important thing to remember before you start cooking beets: you need to cook them in their skins. This is necessary, because if you peel the beets before sending them to cook, they will lose all their beneficial substances, and the peel helps retain them. Therefore, it is enough just to wash the beets very well.Also, you need to remember that the root can only be trimmed to its base, because if you trim too much, when cooking, the beets will lose juice and before they are ready they will lose color and will no longer look so appetizing.  While the beets are cooking, do not check their readiness by piercing them with a fork or knife, because this will also cause the beets to lose juice. It is also equally important not to overcook the beets; the optimal time for cooking this vegetable is one hour. After the beets are cooked, allow them time to cool completely before peeling and grating or cutting them for a salad or other dish. .

The first salad that we would like to recommend to you is beets with fried onions, seasoned with vegetable oil, and it is very simple to make. Grate the boiled beets. Add vegetable oil to a heated frying pan and add the diced onion. Add a little salt and sugar to the onion in the pan, this will make the onion taste better. Mix the grated beets and fried onions with butter thoroughly and add a little more salt and pepper.

Second salad: beets with pickled onions and feta cheese. Beets can be made in two ways: cut into cubes or grated. Slice the onion very thinly into half rings and marinate. Onion marinade: vinegar, vegetable oil, salt, sugar, pepper. Cut feta cheese into large cubes. Mix beets with onions and vegetable oil and place feta cubes on top and sprinkle with chopped dill.
