If you want to quickly prepare some kind of dessert, but you don’t have much time, we recommend baking a sponge roll. Roll is a great alternative to cake, but it cooks much faster. We know various options for preparing rolls, but today we will talk about the classic version of the sponge cake and recommend the most delicious and interesting filling.

To prepare the crust we need: flour, eggs, sugar, baking powder, vanillin. In fact, the crust can be made using any sponge cake recipe, but we want to advise you that it’s just a win-win option. Since the biscuit cake must be soft and elastic, it is important to adhere to all proportions. In order for the cake to be quite thin, it is enough to take only two eggs for the dough. It is best to separate the yolk from the white and beat them separately. Beat the egg whites until you have standing peaks. To make sure you don’t make a mistake in the proportions, do the following: for each egg, add one heaped tablespoon of flour and sugar. Mix flour, sugar and baking powder together and then add to beaten eggs.Mix everything very thoroughly and carefully. Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper, this is mandatory. Try to distribute the dough as evenly as possible, because this determines how the roll will look after cooking. If on one side the cake is too thin, and on the other hand, on the contrary, too thick, then you will not be able to roll it properly. For the cake to bake well, 10-15 minutes are enough. For this reason, we recommend making chocolate buttercream for the roll. For cream, choose only good quality butter, but it is better not to use margarine for cream. Beat the butter thoroughly with a mixer, beat until it increases in volume a little. Gradually add powdered sugar to the butter and continue beating. As a rule, this cream turns out to be quite hard and stable, it is great for decorating cakes. But for the roll it is better for us to have a softer cream, so you can add two or three tablespoons of boiled water. Lastly, add cocoa. Beat everything well with a mixer and the cream is ready.
