Pie with buckwheat and potatoes

Pie is a flour product that is prepared with different types of fillings. Housewife pies are made from shortbread, puff pastry or yeast dough. Today we will tell you how to prepare a delicious yeast pie filled with buckwheat and potatoes.

You should start preparing the pie by preparing the filling. First we take the potatoes, wash and peel them. Cook it until tender in well-salted water. When the potatoes are ready, we drain the water and mash them well into a puree. Then cook the buckwheat in salted water until half cooked. At the end, add butter and cover with a lid and turn off the heat. In order to give even more aroma and taste to the filling, we fry a lot of onions in vegetable oil. This onion is very aromatic and sweet in taste. Now we combine potatoes and buckwheat, add fried onions and ground black pepper. Mix well and leave aside.

While the filling is cooling, we begin to prepare the dough. To do this, we take flour, water, yeast, butter, salt and very little sugar, since our dough should be salty. Prepare the dough: pour water at room temperature, sugar and yeast into a bowl, and let the yeast ferment a little. Then add flour and knead the dough thoroughly. When it comes away from the hand and bowl, add vegetable oil and butter. Mix well and leave aside in a warm place to rise. The dough should double in size.

Divide the finished dough into two parts, roll one thinly and place it in a prepared and greased form. Roll out the flatbread thinly as it will still grow. We spread our prepared filling on it in a thick layer. Now roll out the other part of the dough also thinly and cover it on top. Let the pie rise a little and put it in a preheated oven, after brushing the dough with beaten egg on top and garnishing with sesame seeds or poppy seeds. Bake the pie in the oven for 40-50 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven, cover with a towel and let it rest.
