Description

The stuffed beet leaves
Once you try the dolma, I wanted this dish again and again! Traditionally, the dish is prepared with vine leaves, but in our area the grapes are not growing, so I had to improvise, replacing grape leaves on beet. The result did not disappoint and turned out to be no worse than the original!

Cooking

step-0
Beetroot leaves, wash and fill with boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. If the lower part of the sheet is hard, it beats a little bit so that it's easier to wrap.
step-1
To the mince add uncooked rice, chopped onion, grated on a medium grater carrots, greens, sprinkle with salt and pepper. The word meat, I had pork-beef, but it's certainly at your discretion :)
step-2
Wrap the beef in beetroot leaves. Further, the second carrot and onion cut, sliced tomato and passeruem, add the tomato paste and a little water. Envelopes tightly wrapped onto the skillet directly into sauteed vegetables. Add enough water so that the envelopes were completely flooded, finely chopped garlic, potseluem, you can optionally add a Bay leaf, pepper, etc.
step-3
Simmer under lid on low heat for ~40-50 minutes, then turn off the heat and allow to stand still for about 15-20 minutes. As the envelopes emerge I pressed the lid of a smaller diameter. It turns out very tasty! Bon appetit! :)
